When I first became a member of Ebay in October 2004 I was a Buyer. I never thought about selling anything through Ebay.

Less than a year later I found myself unemployed due to office closing in a company that I had worked for almost 25 years. I started looking for ways to earn extra money through the Internet. I tried several things that were not what they seemed. I started looking around Ebay, reviewing tutorials and reading reviews. I decided to give it a try. Listing was so simple, I wondered why I hadn't done this before. I became a power seller within the first three months.

I am a single mom 56 years old. I enjoy reading, attending church, working in the yard. I was born and raised in Virginia, married a guy from South Carolina and moved here in 1968. I go home to Virginia couple times a year and spend time with my Mother. I also have two cats that are now my children since my son is grown. Before Ebay, in my former life, I was a licensed Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster.

I am a Power Selling Mom of two beautiful children, thirteen and ten, selling on Ebay since 2004When I first became a member of Ebay in 2004, I was a Buyer. I actually recall exactly what I was buying, a winter jacket for my son. It was exciting to bid at the last minute, especially with dial up!!! LOL !Then I started selling items on eBay, mostly used clothes, etc. About 2 1/5 years ago, I thought I would check out how art did on eBay, (since I am an artist). At first I was disappointed to see what low prices artists were getting for their work, until I discovered ACEOs.(That stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals)

Now, I know this sounds dramatic, but ACEOs changed my life!Before my children were born, I was a professional artist with a gallery and small art school. When my daughter was born I switched gears and put 110% into being a mom (La Leche league, attachment style parenting, baby wearing, you know) Then when my kiddos were older, I suddenly found myself very limited in the ability to make money. That actually brought me much anxiety because I did not want to become an out of the home working mom whose children came home to an empty house with an exhausted mom, but we were strapped for money!

I started painting these little miniatures, they began to sell, and before I knew it, I was working from home, doing what I love to do, AND bringing in the bucks!I am deeply grateful and feel incredibly blessed. I don't consider what I do work because I enjoy it so much.

The pressure is off my hubby because he is not carrying the entire burden as breadwinner, my children benefit from a happy mom. So, ACEOs really have changed my life.I have been married to my dear hubby for 20 years this August! I have two wonderful children and a horse who is my love and my therapy.

I also have three cats and a sweet mixed breed dog.

I was born in Oregon and grew up in Southern California, after I married a chef, moved fifteen times to seven different states! We have settled in the Berkshire Mountains for a while because its such a great place to raise our children.I have become very involved with a group called Art for Critters, a group of artists who donate a portion of their sales to animal charities.

I am really proud of this group and have personally donated nearly $1000.00 since I became a member. I recently organized a group auction for the Harp Seals and am thrilled with the response.Thanks to Danna's inspiration, I am finding more ways to market myself through out the internet, and am watching with great joy as my business continues to grow!

This months Featured Power Seller is motoxrush

My name is Melynda Rush and I am a Power Selling Mom of two great kids...my husband and my 8 year old son! LOL!

I have been a member of eBay since 2004 and have been selling full-time on eBay since July 2005.

The way I got started on eBay is I had a brick and mortar Power Sports retail store and my idol who is also my best friend, "my Dad", one day told me about selling on eBay.

So I decided to give it a try and listed a few things, then became hooked!

I eventually began to make more money selling on eBay than I did opening my store everyday, so I eventually listed everything I could by opening a store on eBay using the inventory from my Brick and Mortar store and now I realize I made the best decision ever!

I have since expanded from selling not only Power Sports apparel and parts n accessories to selling virtually anything like Avon products, home decor items, jewelry, Barbie Dolls and more!

I also make custom logos, store banners, custom listing templates and sell a great wholesale list of places to buy wholesale merchandise from, so that others can get in on the eBay Selling fun!

I became a Silver level Power Seller after my first 3 months of selling on eBay and have been able to maintain my Power Selling Status ever since.

I have learned to market my eBay business everywhere I can and I am so excited that it has grown to be as successful as it has!

One day, I discovered eBay groups and later on started my own eBay teaching group, "Getting Started on eBay and Improving". I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others about eBay so much that I eventually became an Education Specialist trained by eBay University so thatI could teach others in a live setting in my area.

I am very thankful to my Dad for letting me in on the eBay information and I feel that making eBay my full-time career has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love what I do and I love to spread the word to others!

eBay has given me the freedom to spend more time with my family by being able to work from home and has given me a great chance to make an extra income to buy things for my family to enjoy!

I have gained a large amount of friends from eBay from all over the world & Danna is one of the awesome friends I made while being part of eBay. Her motivation and drive is just phenomenal! She truly is an inspiration to more people than she probably will ever realize!!

Happy Friday!

Spring is in the air and now is the perfect time to bake some cookies!

I had the recipe on eBay last year. Sold a few of them and forgot about it till today. I was hungry for some cookies!

This recipe makes the most awesome cookies in the world! I used to make them for all the school events. And the kids loved them so much that I was always asked to bring them. "DARN" ... lol

Oh but with the kids off to college now I would give anything to make them for their classmates again!
(OK, no pity party)


They do freeze up nice! Can make heaps of cookies ahead of time and freeze some away. OR, just half the recipe and only make 50 this time!

OR, make some GIANT MONSTER COOKIES and only make about 25 .. The Red Hat ladies love them too!
that's what the queen mum told me anyhow!
